Hello All,

After a few staff members pitched the idea of member blogs we decided to TEST out the idea. I have written up a short FAQ for people to refer to since this is a new idea:


What is it?
-An area for senior members to blog, share their thoughts and ideas, ext.

Who can post here?
-Members with more than 800 posts.

Who can view the blogs?
-Any registered member

What are the rules?
- You must follow all the same rules of the forum while posting here. Seeing as these are more personal posts, and that they reflect members personal feelings you will actually be held to a higher standard.

What can I write?
- Anything as long as it is not illegal or extremely inappropriate. Use common sense

Anything else?
- Remember, have fun, and don't be judgmental.

I like this idea. I have a concern though, seeing that some blogs are locked, are you going to lock them all so that people can't reply?

I locked my own.

My general idea would be that everyone could make as many posts as they'd like in this section.

Not things like "xxx's blog" "yyy's blog", etc. This whole section is a blog that belongs to everyone with over 700 posts (will be fixed shortly ;P).

Then, everyone that didn't have that amount could only reply, and the author of said post could reply back. Every topic would pertain to a different subject; a different blog entry by whomever.

Complicated or straight forward?

We locked our own blogs, just so people can't reply.

Just so that it actually looks like a blog with news and post from ourselves.. not some replies which will eventually mess up the "blog" look.

What I just said earlier, this whole category was supposed to be the actual "blog", ownership divided by those with a post count over 700. Each topic should be related to a different blog entry.

Hasn't worked out like that thus far, so whichever you all prefer it to be.

I think its going to work out the way it is
Just a quick note, post count 'entry' limit has been dropped from 1000 to 800

It took ages just to get the member permisions to work efficiently.

I love this idea, now I just need to find the time to start my own.
