the 3DS looks terrible. sony don't need to announce a PSP2 the ones out already do the job, If you want serious gaming get a PS3/PC if you want to play a quick game on the bus or something get a PSP or play tetris on your mobile.

once again that thing looks damn ugly, and bulky. I can't comment on specs yet since I have not heard any.

I think it looks pretty nice, compared to past DS designs. The tiny curve is gorgeous. The 3D thing is nifty, and it seems that they're actually making quality games for it, and not just letting the whole "omg it's 3D" thing be the selling point.

PSP2 will probably have all the things Moovlin mentioned, if it doesn't, I don't see the point in ever coming out with a PSP2.

Why call it a PSP2?? Think of what Sony will probably call it  "PSP-4000" seems to be the most reasonable...  But I do agree that if Sony releases a PSP, it will kick the crap out of this "new" Nintendo DS :P
Yeah, PSP-4000 is the most realistic. Changes: yet another brighter screen. :P
However I'm not sure if it will kick the crap out of this "new" Nintendo DS like you said.
The 3DS actually really IS new, 3DS games can't be played on any other DS.

What makes you so sure?

Also I don't think there will be a new PSP. Unless the PSP would have gfx close to the ps3, it would be pointless to release it because right now the iphone and 3DS beats the PSP @ gfx.

Well, of course graphics for the next PSP will be better. A better chip inside will allow for developers to make the graphics better. But ultimately, it's up to how much work goes into the game.

3DS seems to have pretty slick graphics.

Sony will never do this. They never came up with something innovative for the PSP since the PS3 came out, only lame PSP 1000 design updates each year.

I do not expect to see anything special, and if they did, Apple or Nintendo would have already added it long ago. Sony is living in 2004. They said in the keynote "the PSP is very strong, it'll last for many years".
2011? Early 2011? I'd say late 2011 or 2012 at least. And if they did the PSP Go was a fail. They could have waited to bring out the PSP Go. They could have announced it as a PSP2 with hardware upgrades at E3 2010.

The PSP Go wasn't really necessary, the PSP Go has the same hardware features as the PSP 3000, the same capabilities as the PSP 2000 and the same functionality as the PSP 1000.
I personally guarantee you that there is a PSP2 in the making and that we will see/hear way more about it in 2011.

PSP Go, admittingly, was a huge failure. It could have been a huge success if one thing was done right though, price.

If the PSP Go was $149, and new games launched at $19.99 as a standard, people would grab these off the shelf like hotcakes.

Here is to hoping that the 3DS isn't overpriced, Nintendo can be quite.... greedy.... despite their ability to amaze us every year with their unrivaled game releases.

(mario galaxy 2 - GOTY 2010, mass effect 2, red dead redemption, crysis 2 can all suck it)

i agree. Nintendo has some good games. Like Modern warfare reflex!
I never have a ringtone set for me, and I always have it on vibrate...

What type of gypsy magic did you use to post on this site from PSP?
Of course, in the life of a secret agent, you need to be sneaky 24/7...

Haven't we learnt from the nintendo ds and ipod touch! It's not great graphics that help sell these kind of devices.

Truth.

TBH, I prefer 2D games on handhelds. At least, until 3D games can handle good anti-aliasing on handhelds.

It's killer games, I think, that sell. PSP has good games, but I can't really find one title that had me as addicted as Pokemon on the DS.

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is addicting, but it doesn't really feel portable.

Yea, anti-aliasing should be a must for a lot of consoles nowadays. C'mon 2010.

There is going to be a PSP2. Like people have said, developers already have dev kits for it. Almost all the rumors match up to about it having dual analogs, touch screen, and 4 core processing.

Also, anti-aliasing hogs up a tremendous amount of power and it isn't necessary as no portable device features it in top end games.

AA is needed for small resolution.
